At the end of September “Places Beyond” opened at Fotografiska Tallinn — the sorcerer Erik Johansson’s magical exhibition which takes the viewer on a dreamlike journey.
Have you ever wondered where clouds come from? But of course: in every meadow there’s an oldie busy sheering all the sheep and sending their soft wool up to the sky. White sheep make the white clouds, while black sheep make the rainy ones.

The same goes for the moon — there’s a team which always takes care that the moon is hanging up in the sky. These surreal visuals and stories get tangled up with the most mundane thoughts and inspire us to harness our own imagination. …

VIVITA Eesti tiim on võtnud hoo üles uue põneva projektiga.
Nimelt pisut enam kui aasta tagasi kohtus kogu VIVITA globaalne tiim Tokyos, Jaapanis, et arutada üheskoos olulisemate teemade üle. Sealhulgas kasvas ühisest arutelust välja plaan VIVITA globaalse veebikodu uuendamiseks ning projekti eestvedajaks sai VIVITA Eesti tiim.

Nüüdseks on meie uue kodulehe kavandamine jõudnud disainiagentuuri , kus veebidisainer Liis Todesk leiab lahendused praeguse kodulehe kitsaskohtadele ning loob mugavama lehe, et saaksime VIVITA mõtteviisi veel kaugemale ja kõrgemale viia. …

VIVITA is an international childrens and youth creativity accelerator and one of its studios — child friendly workshop-inventing lab, VIVISTOP is also in Estonia, Tallinn. VIVISTOP Telliskivi opened it’s doors in November 2018. Our goal is to offer children a creative environment where they can independently use different tools, materials and machines and through that turn their dashing ideas and dream projects into reality.

We wish to include and encourage children to fulfill their dreams outside the usual school environment and also inspire the passion to invent and promote the entrepreneurial mindset.

VIVITA’s activities can be divided into two:

(1) we build open makerspace facilities and invention labs for children to develop their original product ideas into working prototypes. Our studios — VIVISTOPs — as we call them — are child-friendly open workshops / invention labs where children can discover, experiment and create by themselves. In VIVISTOPs children can use various traditional handicraft tools alongside with modern digital tools and devices such as laser-cutters, CNC-routers, 3D printers, sewing machines, soldering stations, various electronic devices, child-friendly programming-and prototyping tools and much more. …

Koolivaheajal oli lastel eriline võimalus osaleda 4-päevases meistriklassis. MA+KE lab disainilabori eestvedamisel tutvustasime VIVITA liikmetele esmakordselt selle stuudio disainiprotsessi — alates kunstilisest ideest kuni täieliku ruumikontseptsioonini. Töötubade jooksul said lapsed õppida, kuidas mustreid joonistada, kuidas enda kujundatud pilte paberile või kangale trükkida, kuidas trükikojas mustreid printida ja kuidas oma teoseid ruumis eksponeerida.

During the autumn school break, VIVITA children enjoyed the unique opportunity to participate in a 4-day pattern creation masterclass with designer collective. The MA+KE designers have created a unique collection of interior design products where they use illustrations of extinct birds and animals.
The team introduced their design process to the children — from the original artistic idea to a complete spatial concept. …

Codeweek Podium: Poland 1st, Estonia 2nd, Austria 3rd

VIVITA team organised five workshops and thereby helped Estonia to reach the top 3 countries in the amount of coding activities taking place per population. The kids were improving their skills in robotics, programming and 3D design. Altogether there were 560 activities arranged in Estonia as part of the CodeWeek programme.

launched in 2013 and is a movement that celebrates creativity, problem solving and collaboration through programming and other tech activities. It is run by volunteers and enthusiast and supported by European Commission. The main purpose of CodeWeek is to raise the digital literacy across all ages, focusing on IT skills, including, but not limited to writing code. CodeWeek takes place once a year in October and the success of the event is based on each and everyone who feels they can contribute and share their skills. Events could organised by companies, NGOs, libraries, museums and educational institutions. This year CodeWeek took place between 10th to 25th of October and was eight in the series. …

We live in strange times. While Greta Thunberg with her climate activism has become a children’s icon and idol, we are on the high speed train towards a much warmer climate. Irrespective of all the articles on climate change, we have a little clue on how to save the nature and reduce our consumption.
To raise awareness about the relation between climate and waste, VIVISTOP Telliskivi arranged a workshop about the zero-waste lifestyle. We invited two experts to share their knowledge and practical tips on the topic.

Our first guest was master chef Peeter Pihel from , who shared his learnings from over the years of working as a chef in various kitchens. He also introduces how Fotografiska Tallinn minimises waste at its restaurant and cafeteria. They follow one important principle — in the kitchen, everything from root to bloom and nose to tail, finds its place on the plate. Even food leftovers are decomposed with their famous pet — The Composter, and the compost is used to grow herbs and prepare dishes. Various packages are also upgraded for serving food — bottoms of empty wine bottles are used as serving dishes for butter. In collaboration with design students from the Estonian Academy of Arts, different new materials were created — for example by mixing coffee grounds to styrofoam a new solid material was created that was used to make new tag holders for the restaurant. …

Sellel aastal toimus Code Week juba 8ndat korda 10.-25. oktoobril. Eesti oli Euroopas toimunud sündmuste arvu poolest
